Feature Article: Gratitude, Joy and Abundance by guest author, Kym McCabe
Throughout my life experiences, I have found these 3 mindsets to be the most powerful keys in keeping me feeling that "it's all good" – Gratitude, Joy and Abundance.

There is a saying, "We don't remember days, we remember moments." And Gratitude for me gives acknowledgement to those moments and also welcomes more. It’s quite humbling to realise so much in my life is provided for. Gratitude* is a Young Living essential oil blend (contains Idaho Balsam Fir, Frankincense, Rosewood, Myrrh, Galbanum andYlang Ylang) to elevate the spirit, calm emotions and bring relief to the body. Just like the practice of gratitude does! When I use this oil, it takes me out of my head and into a state of appreciation so naturally. It's a place I like to "be" in.

You just can't fake it and when you are coming from a sense of Joy, it just shares itself around multiplying. My girlfriends and I like to play with Joy* essential oil blend (contains lemon, mandarin, bergamot, rose and geranium to name a few - see citrus oil and sunlight caution below) in our full moon ceremonies.

These are very simple get togethers where we take time to give thanks for special things in our lives and set our intentions of more special things to come.

My Abundance essential oil and I started out having a strange love affair. There were times when it irritated me and I really wanted to love it.

Abundance is a powerful blend of orange, frankincense, patchouli, clove, ginger, myrrh, cinnamon bark, spruce. That’s a powerful combination of individually powerful fruits, herbs and spices. Interestingly, I find Abundance essential oil is better received by me these days. I think that it is because I am finally learning that Abundance is so much more than money. I only need to take a look around and consider how much variety there are in houses, trees, birds, flowers, air...the list itself is abundant!

And that’s part of the reason why I incorporate my top 3 – Gratitude, Joy and Abundance – into the products I create in my business. I am the Key Creator of Fun Key Creations – and we make a variety of new and recycled fabric handbags, business card holders and select customised products.

Would you like to make your own fabric handmade multi-purpose business card holder/coin purse/treasure pouch which you may infuse with essential oils yourself? Mention Essential Bliss when you complete this contact form, and I will send you the pattern at no cost to make yourself!

OR

If you would rather purchase ready-made, unique Fun Key products, go to my online shop and order now.

The no cost pattern offer ends Tuesday 20 December 2011 and most of the card holders are original one-of-a-kind creations.

With Gratitude, Joy and Abundance,

Kym McCabe

7 Holiday Magic Essential Oil Recipes Coconut Magic

There is one thing that I love nearly as much as my essential oils--and that is coconut oil! It is the magic ingredient for any essential oil blend.

I prefer to use a raw, virgin coconut oil such as Coconut Magic because I know and trust the company will provide the best quality, pure product. Just like my essential oils, Coconut Magic is the most pure I have found. It has a subtle smell and taste just like a real, fresh coconut! That is how it is supposed to smell and taste, NOT like toasted coconut or have a unusual after taste.

I always say "The nose knows!" When you are using the most pure and potent essential oils you will discover purity in everything you use, including coconut oil. So Coconut Magic coconut oil makes a perfect accompaniment to any essential oil blend.

Once you have your Coconut Magic coconut oil, you will LOVE these recipes. Each recipe uses 20mL (that's about 3/4 fl oz) of coconut oil. Enjoy!

  • Christmas Cheer. Blend frankincense, myrrh and orange with coconut oil and use as a body lotion to set the holiday mood.
  • Cleanse and Refresh. I add a drop of lemon essential oil* (food grade only) to my coconut oil first thing in the morning for an instant cleanse to the body.
  • 'Tis the Season. Get in the joyful mood by adding geranium, orange and jasmine to coconut oil and apply anytime you need a lift.
  • Relax and Replenish. Add your favourite citrus oils (eg lemon, orange, tangerine - remember citrus oils make the skin extra sun sensitive, so avoid the sun or place under clothes) along with some patchouli and ylang ylang to coconut oil and take some time out for you.
  • Beautiful You. Add a drop of rose essential oil to your coconut oil and apply all over for a special holiday season night out.
  • Joyous Kids. Add cedarwood, orange and pine to some coconut oil and give the kids a beautiful massage.
  • Make Chocolate Not War with a Twist. Next time you are making some healthy coconut oil chocolate, add one drop of food grade (only – do not ingest any other essential oil) peppermint essential oil* or orange essential oil* or for the season, frankincense essential oil* to your mix. Sooooo healthy and yummy!

SPECIAL for Essential Bliss readers: Shop online and receive 20% off Coconut Magic Coconut Oil! For a limited time only...This offer also includes the Coconut Cleanse and Make Chocolate Not War packages... (offer ends 31 December 2011).
