Get the Christmas Spirit Now with Essential Oils

Sometimes it is difficult to get the Christmas Spirit. You hear everyone say "Is it Christmas already?" The busyness of our lives doesn't allow us to think of giving, holidays and fun until the very last minute.

In these difficult economic times, sometimes it can feel like we have a cloud following us around, about to rain any minute.

Essential oils can help. We know that smell is linked to memories and research has shown that the limbic system of the brain is responsible for the emotions attached to the memories.

Here is a list of Christmas Oils

(See if you can see the connection to Christmas memories...)

Frankincense

Myrrh

Cinnamon

Clove

Orange

These oils evoke feelings of Christmas spirit and joy. Read below for more details about the "Bliss" Oil of the Month...Frankincense. Now, here are Seven Ideas to Get the Christmas Spirit Now...

1. Diffuse one or more oils above for at least thirty minutes a day.

2. Add some clove essential oil when you are cleaning walls. Clove inhibits mould growth and gives your room a festive smell (patch test first if you are unsure).

3. Wear one of the essential oils above as an aromatherapy perfume.

Special Essential Bliss readers festive perfume tip...
  • 2 drops frankincense
  • 2 drops myrrh
  • 1 drop cinnamon
  • Remember skin test first and only use therapeutic grade essential oils directly on the skin. DO NOT try this with any other oil.

    4. Add a drop of cinnamon essential oil to your washing machine when you have a full load.

    5. Meditate with Frankincense essential oil each morning. Try a drop on each wrist, and crown (top of head) chakra.

    6. Quick festive recipe: 3 cups of mixed nuts, 1/2 cup agave in a non-stick frying pan, cook until fragrant and sticky. Remove from heat. Add one drop of cinnamon therapeutic grade essential oil (only) and stir in. Drop "clusters" on non-stick paper and leave to set. Yum!

    7. Annoint your Christmas candles with a blend of the above oils, setting the intent of a festive season with lots of joy and happiness.
