Cooking With Oils – 3 Wonderful Dips

by Artemis
(Maryborough, VIC)

We had a workshop and my husband Noel was inspired to create 3 delicious dips.

It was interesting that it created quite a stir amongst our attendees – everyone had their favourites, and they also had dips they really didn’t like the taste of……but what one person liked, another didn’t like, and vice versa.

The preferences were mostly due to the base ingredients – one person didn’t like olives, so she didn’t like the tapenade. Someone else didn’t like feta, so they didn’t like the feta dip, and so on. My favourite was the feta dip, and I’ve been devouring some every day since! Here are the recipes:

Feta Dip:
500g feta (we use sheep or goat’s feta, rather than cows)
3 drops Lavender oil
2 drops Hyssop oil
1 drop Coriander oil
1 clove garlic
Blend the ingredients and add olive oil until a creamy consistency is achieved.

Olive Tapanade:
500g black and green marinated pitted olives
3 drops Ginger oil
1 drop Black Pepper oil
1 drop Vetiver oil
1 clove garlic
Blend until smooth.

Guacamole Dip:
3 large avocados
8 drops Christmas Spirit oil*
3 drops Citrus Fresh oil*
1 clove garlic
Blend until smooth.
