Is Lavender an Essential Oil or Absolute?

by Emma

Is "Lavender Essential Oil" really an essential oil or is it an absolute oil? (Essential oils are produced through distillation while absolute oils are produced though solvent extraction, I think.) I've read that some flowers are too delicate to be distilled, so solvents have to be used. Lavender and Rose are two of these flowers. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Emma
Thanks for your question. I can tell you with absolute certainty that the lavender essential oil I use and recommend is 100% pure and potent, therapeutic-grade lavender essential oil.

I have just returned from a trip to the Young Living Lavender Farm in Simiane la Rotonde, France and experienced and participated in the distilling process first hand :)

Young Living lavender essential oil is steam distilled at low pressure and low temperature to maintain the integrity and quality of the oil.

Lavender essential oil is produced from the flower (essential oil quality is highest when it is going to seed) and stem of the plant.

If you want guaranteed pure and potent essential oil, with no chemicals added EVER, please visit my store for more information.

Best wishes and enjoy!
