There are times in life when we feel disconnected. It might be after a big change, a busy season or simply everyday life that dulls our spark. It’s easy to forget what makes us feel alive, grounded and whole.
Essential oils have always been my bridge back to myself. A single scent can unlock memories, soften emotions and awaken energy we didn’t even realise had gone quiet. This is the beauty of aromatherapy, it’s both gentle and powerful, working in ways that words often cannot.
If you’ve been feeling out of rhythm lately, try using your oils to reconnect with the deeper parts of yourself. Here are a few simple ways to begin.

1. Create a Morning Connection Ritual
Before the day begins, pause for a moment with your favourite grounding oil. I love Frankincense, Cedarwood, and Black Spruce for this. Place a drop in your palms, breathe in deeply, and set an intention for your day. This simple act brings your focus back to what truly matters and helps you meet the world with calm strength.

2. Open Your Heart Space
Sometimes the disconnection we feel comes from emotional overwhelm or fatigue. Oils such as Lavender, Geranium, and Bergamot can help soften those walls and gently open the heart again. Diffuse them while journaling, meditating, or simply sitting quietly. Let the scent remind you that it’s safe to feel, to release, and to trust.

3. Awaken Your Inner Joy
To shift energy and invite a lighter mood, blend Orange, Jasmine, and Lime together. This combination creates a bright, uplifting scent that instantly lifts the spirit and restores your natural glow. You can turn this blend into a body lotion by adding 6–8 drops total into 30 mL of unscented natural lotion. Apply over your chest and shoulders as part of your morning or evening routine.
When you use essential oils intentionally, your sense of connection deepens. It’s not just about the scent, it’s about what it awakens within you. The more you listen to your inner energy, the more your oils will seem to “choose you” each day.
