Every Drop Counts: Building a Daily Ritual with Essential Oils

There’s something deeply grounding about beginning and ending your day with intention. For me, that starts with my essential oils. Over time, these daily rituals have become less about routine and more about connection, to myself, to my emotions and to the energy I want to bring into the day.

Morning: Awakening the Senses

My mornings always begin with my anti-aging face spritz. It’s simple, yet powerful. A blend of 120ml (4 oz) of pure water with 5 drops each of Sandalwood, Frankincense, and Patchouli. These oils are beautiful for skin support, grounding energy and that inner calm that helps me start the day feeling centered.

Each month, I choose an emotional oil to add based on how I’m feeling or what I want to attract. This month, it’s one drop of Abundance, a reminder to open to possibility and notice the flow of good things already around me.

After my spritz, I take a moment to apply Frankincense under my eyes (avoiding the eyes themselves). It’s a small act of self-care that helps my skin and reminds me to pause and honour where I am in life.

I also include my low tox facial skin care as well.

Throughout the Day: Staying Present

I keep my diffuser running throughout the day. The aroma shifts depending on what I need, a grounding note of sandalwood to stay focused, or sometimes something uplifting when my energy dips. A few drops added here and there act as little check-ins with myself, helping me stay balanced no matter how the day unfolds.

These pauses have become anchors. Even a deep breath in front of the diffuser can reset my mind, soften tension and bring me back into the present moment.

Evening: Rest and Renewal

As the day closes, I make sure my diffuser is on in the bedroom and this time with Lavender and a special blend that purifies the air. The soft mist creates a calm, peaceful space that helps me unwind.

Before bed, I apply oils to my heart area and massage my feet. This is one of my sleep secrets, the combination of touch and aroma works deeply on both the physical and emotional level, allowing my body to relax completely.

The Power of Consistency

Over time, these daily moments have transformed from “self-care” into a way of life. They remind me that wellness isn’t a once-a-week act, it’s built one drop, one breath, one moment at a time.

If you’re just beginning to create your own daily ritual, start small. Choose one oil that speaks to you, and use it with intention. Let it remind you that you are capable of creating calm and clarity, no matter how busy life feels.
